Washington State Neurological Society
We invite neurologists throughout Washington state to join our organization for educational opportunities through CME credit, networking for consultation and collaboration, and advocacy efforts. We also encourage participation from Oregon and Idaho neurologists, neurology residents, and interested medical students.
As neurologists we care for individuals with a variety of conditions including headache, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, dementia, movement disorders, and nerve and muscle disease. With the rapid developments in neurology research the WSNS will help to disseminate that information through the lecture series at its annual meeting. We will also serve as a source of information on conferences and lectures in the region. We hope to share information on ongoing studies in the state to promote collaboration in clinical research.
It is also imperative to educate the community about the services we provide and the diseases we treat. This helps to ensure appropriate access to relevant care. We have the opportunity to advocate for our patients. We can help to provide information on local, state, and national issues affecting neurologists and our neurologic patients.
This website is the cooperative effort of the American Academy of Neurology and the Washington State Neurological Society; however, the Academy is not responsible for the content on the Society’s website and the Society is also not responsible for the content on the Academy’s website.

TheBrainMatters.org Informs Patients,
Caregivers on Neurologic Disorders
TheBrainMatters.org, the AAN
Foundation’s redesigned patient and caregiver website, now features in-depth,
easily searchable information on a host of disease states from NINDS, including
such supporting materials as AAN patient guideline summaries, patient stories
from Neurology Now®, and AAN Press Books, and a video on Parkinson’s disease.
Users can get tips on how to prepare for an office visit, contact information
for voluntary health agencies, and information on the importance of research
and how to support the future of neurology.
Visitors to the site are encouraged to participate in the Buy a Brain
fundraising campaign at www.TheBrainMatters.org/buyabrain. For each $5 brain
purchase, you will receive a “virtual brain” icon that will appear on the site,
displaying your name and the name of someone you choose to honor. One hundred
percent of the proceeds go to support research into neurologic disorders.
